If you have an advanced degree and expertise in health economics, medicine, information technology, policy analysis, public health and statistics, you may be the perfect candidate for our Practice Leader/Senior Director of Professional Services.
You will lead and direct professional consulting services groups, overseeing a wide variety of health economics and outcomes research studies in the areas of economic modelling, econometric analysis, patient reported outcomes, and/or evidence-based medicine. Additional responsibilities include playing the major role in study design, implementation, mentoring junior staff, report preparation (including manuscripts), and client interaction.
This position requires a relevant Ph.D. with 7-10+ years of experience in research-based consulting (Masters considered with additional experience), including several years of project management experience in the outcomes research arena. Excellent communication, organizational, client-facing and management skills are required, as well as, a willingness to travel.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong interest in health economics and experience or an advanced degree in a field such as economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or health services research. The candidate must have experience managing all aspects of projects including budget, staffing, project plans, and client deliverables. The candidate should be able to work independently in an office setting with limited supervision and manage teams on multiple projects.
An ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role at BHE. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making abilities, and attention to detail are equally important.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects concurrently with established budgets, maintain project schedules and quality deliverables in a dynamic environment
Design and conduct studies to evaluate the value of new healthcare interventions including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Studies may involve decision analytic models, prospective data from clinical trials, and retrospective claims data
Coordinate with other BHE personnel to ensure the timely and quality preparation of project deliverables based on the assigned scope of services
Coordinate with project sponsors to ensure all project expectations are met
Manage relationships with assigned client accounts including routine written, telephone, and face-to-face communication
Provide monthly project reviews to BHE executive management and highlights project risk in advance so potential resolution can be planned for and implemented
Ensure all project deliverables are of high quality and exceed clients’ expectations
Provide ongoing mentoring and performance feedback for managed team members
Presentation of research, including dissemination at scientific conferences and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals
Seek to identify opportunities at existing BHE clients encompassing change orders and new projects
Coordinate with Business Development to provide proposal content and support of other activities to ensure a hig quality, timely proposal submission

Qualifications:
An advanced degree in health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research or other related field, and/or 5-7 years of relevant job experience
3-5 years of project management experience including ownership of project work plans, budgets, change of scope, resource allocation, and deliverable management
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, creative problem solving, and structured communication skills
Experience communicating with clients
Fluency in English (will be required to write, speak, and understand English to conduct day-to-day business)
We are currently accepting applications for Research Assistants. This is a key position with opportunities for growth and advancement, including opportunities to be an author or acknowledged contributor on peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts. The incumbent will work closely with senior staff and clients on various projects. Qualified applicants will be asked to submit writing samples and will receive skills testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts extensive searches of the medical literature (PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Google Scholar)
Analyzes and evaluates studies and data and summarizes results
Contributes to writing, editing, and producing abstracts, manuscripts, reports, posters, and proposals
Assists with meeting notes and other project management tasks as needed
May assist with primary data collection projects, such as IRB submissions
May receive cross-training in advanced analytical tasks, including SAS/Excel programming and modeling
